On 22 February 2022, the Opinions of the State Council of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China on Key Efforts to Comprehensively Promote Rural Revitalisation in 2022 was released, in which it was proposed that a special struggle against blackness and evil should be carried out on a regular basis, and a continuous crackdown on "village bullying" should be carried out.

The document also cracked down on yellow, gambling, drugs and crimes that violate the personal rights of rural women and children. The release of this document is evidence that the Chinese government is working to improve the quality of life of rural women and to further protect their safety and interests, as there are huge differences between urban and rural women due to their different levels of education and economic conditions.

Is it necessary for unmarried women to have a gynecological examination? Advice from the doctor

Many companies in China organize medical health check-ups for women. However, they only divide the check-ups into two packages - married and unmarried - the difference between the two packages being that the married package will include a gynecological examination, while the unmarried package will not.

However, the doctor recommended that all women over the age of 21 who have had sex should have a gynecological examination, rather than simply dividing them according to whether they are married or unmarried.

The doctor also believes that companies should give women more freedom of choice and protect their privacy.

A Woman Pushed Down a Sexual Harasser and Killed Him. Court Affirmed: Self-defense

On 27 May 2020 at around 10pm, Ms Pan and a man surnamed Wang were returning home together after drinking in Xiangzhou, Guangxi Province.

On the way, Pan was forcibly held by his companion several times. When he was pushed away from Pan again, he fell to the ground and died after 13 days in a coma.

After a year of trial, the court held, following a final judgment on 30 July 2021, that Pan's pushing and shoving was a legitimate defence and that he should not be held civilly liable under the law.

As can be seen, women are still in a more passive position when alone with men, but women should learn from Pan's behaviour and be brave enough to protect themselves in the event of harassment.
